Photoshop Tools

1. Move Tool:

 . It is used to move a selection or layer.

2. Rectangular Marquee Tool:

 . It makes a selection in shape of rectangle.
 . If we right click, we get different tools and can select any of them as per requirement.

 . Let us select Elliptical Marquee Tool and select portion of image.
 . It appears as below:

3. Lasso Tool:

 . It is used to make free hand selections.
 . If we right click on it, it shows different tools related to it and we can select any of them as per requirement.

 . Let us select a portion of image using  Polygonal Lasso tool and it appears as below:

4. Quick Selection Tool:

 . It makes selection by finding and following the edges in an image.

 . It shows tools related to it when we right click on it.

 . Let us choose Magic Wand Tool and select a portion of image, it appears as below.

5. Crop Tool:

 . It is used to crop or expand the image.
 . If we right click, it shows tools related to it and we can select any of them as per requirement.

 . Let us select Perspective Crop Tool and crop a portion of image.

 . It appears as below:

6. Eye Dropper Tool:

 . It samples the colors from an image.
 . If we right click, we get tools related to it and we can choose any of them as per requirement.

 . Let us use Color Sampler Tool and select different points on the image.
 . It shows the color samples and information of the combination of RGB as follows:

7. Spot Healing Brush Tool:

 . It is used to remove marks on image.
 . It shows tools related to it when we right click on it.

 . Let us use Spot Healing Brush tool to remove marks from a shirt:

8. Brush Tool:

 . It is used to paint custom brush strokes.

 . It shows tools related to it if we right click on it and we can select any of them as required.

 . Using Brush tool, painted a smiley over image.

9. Clone Stamp Tool:

 . It is used to paint with pixels from another part of image.
 . In this example, selected tree on the left side using Clone Stamp Tool by holding Alt key.
 . Now we can paint this part in any location as needed.
 . Holding Shift key and dragging it, it forms duplicate of selected part on the right side.

10. History Brush Tool:

 . It is used to restore part of an image to an earlier state.
 . From the above image, we can remove the tree on right side using History Brush Tool.
 . Select the History Brush Tool and click on the area where you want to restore it to earlier state.

11. Eraser Tool:

 . It is used to change pixels to background color or make them transparent.

12. Gradient Tool:

 . It is used to create gradual blend between colors.
 . Select a part of image anywhere and it gives gradient of that selected part as below:

13. Blur Tool:

 . It blurs the area of an image.
 . It shows tools related to it when we right click on it.

 . Result of an image after blurring using blur tool is as follows:

14. Dodge Tool:

 . It is used to lighten areas in an image.
 . It shows the tools related to it when we right click on it. We can choose any of them as per requirement.

 . Let us use dodge tool to brighten flower part in the image and it looks as below:

15. Pen Tool:

 . It is used to make paths or shapes with anchor points and handles.

 . It shows tools related to it when we right click on it, we can choose any of them as per requirement.
 . In the below example, using Pen tool few shapes are made.

16. Horizontal type Tool:

 . It adds Typing content to the image.
 . It shows tools related to it when we right click on it, we can choose any of them as per requirement.
 . In the below example, using Horizontal Type Tool and Horizontal Mask Tool, text is written.

17. Path Selection Tool:

 . It is used to select the path.

18. Rectangle Tool:

 . It is used to draw different shapes.
 . It shows many tools related to it when we right click on it. We can choose any of them as per requirement.

 . We can draw many types of shapes using Custom Shape tool.
 . In the drawing window, if we right click, it shows categories of shapes and we can click on it to draw those shapes.

19. Hand Tool:

 . It is used to pan over different parts of image.

20. Zoom Tool:

 . It is used to magnify or reduce view of an image.
